In May 2023, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a fantastic art exhibition in Amsterdam. It was designated after one artist, Vermeer. Never before have so many of this Old Master's masterpieces been arranged together. I would have to go to several contiries to view all of these artworks outside of this show. This exhibition provides an excellent opportunity to see almost all of Vermeers' works in a single venue. This was a spectacular event, and I spent two days appreciating artwork as well as making copies in my sketchbooks. Drawing at museums all over the world is something I enjoy doing. I am taking advantage of every opportunity to sketch.

Nothing compares to learning the history of the arts by reproducing the masters who composed that history. They say that when you hear anything, you recall less than 10% of what you hear. You remember twice as much when you read, which is still very little - approximately 20%. When you create anything, however, you will remember it for the rest of your life. That is why I like to draw at museums. This way, I learn a lot about the each masterpiece I replicate. I advise students in the Life Drawing Academy course to produce replicas of masterpieces.
