How to Draw a Cube in a 45-Degree View
Video by Vladimir London, the Life Drawing Academy tutor

In this video, you will see how to draw a cube in a 45-degree view. The vanishing point is located on the horizon line and the cube will be seen from above. To begin with, I draw a square in one point perspective and then use that square to build the cube's footprint in the 45-degree view. The height of this cube is equal to the width of the circle, which is inscribed into the footprint. Two lateral edges go up to this level. The vanishing lines help to find the virtual square in one-point perspective at the top of this cube. This virtual square is used as a guide to build the cube's top side. Once again, the width of a circle inscribed into the cube's footprint, marked here as "A" is equal to the cube's height. Although I used only one vanishing point to draw this cube, it is actually seen in two-point perspective.
