Tilt your head to see the portrait drawing upright
When drawing a head that is tilted to one side, it is a good idea to tilt your head to see the drawing upright. This way, you will avoid mistakes and distortions in drawing. When the portrait is tilted, it is more difficult to see horizontal alignments. Also, it is more difficult to see if such lines as the levels of eyes, nose, eyebrows, mouth, base of the nose follow the rules of linear perspective. If alignments are broken, the face would look distorted. That is why you may rotate the artwork from time to time or tilt your head to check such horizontal alignments.
