"I have always drawn since I can remember. In my childhood pictures I had pencils in my hands and a big smile. My dream had been to be a draftswoman or artist. Unfortunately, the options to study drawing academically are scarce if not nonexistent in my country. Every workshop I attended could not provide me with any greater skills than I already had.
It was frustrating not to find anything beyond pre-recorded classes on the internet. Then, by chance, I found Life Drawing Academy videos on YouTube, and was immediately captivated by the skills of the teachers, and the complexity of the curriculum. This was an opportunity to learn much more than any art college would offer.
I am very glad I took the Life Drawing Academy Correspondence course. At the beginning, teachers assessed my skills. It was overwhelming to realize that despite having been drawing for so long, I knew practically nothing about drawing, and yet I was glad, because I felt I was on the right path to fulfill my dreams for the first time.
I go from task to task, learning new things all the way. I also continue practicing those exercises I was given previously to improve my skills further. So far, I have done only 17 tasks out of 100 in this course. Not only have my drawing skills improved, I feel that I am capable of drawing anything I like, should I take the time to understand how to construct it. I know that I will achieve the advanced level of drawing skills sooner or later with support and guidance from the academy tutors. The more I do, the more I realize how far I have come thanks to this course, and how far I still have to go. Learning good drawing skills on your own could be hard, but thanks to Life Drawing Academy teachers my success feels so achievable.
